People like novelty.” This novel form of transportation first appeared in India during the 1930's. It wasn't until the late 1970's that Americans took an affinity to Pedicabs.

Novel as it may be, it is the simplicity that's tied with pedicabbing that keeps both the driver and the customer entertained through their brief ride. Veteran Pedicabber, Matt C says, "Yes, pedicabbing is blast, but it encompasses much more than meets the eye!"

The phrase, “Out with the old and in with the new,” just does not suit our city," says veteran pedicabber Matt C. Austin relishes its reputation as an old school type of city. With the city going green, maintaining historical architecture and monuments, it seems like pedicabbing only suits Austin, TX.

The Pedicabbing industry has expanded significantly in Austin, TX over the past couple of years. Many pedicabbers travel all over the United States and relocate with each season to ensure they have work year round. However, it is not out of the ordinary to see pedicabbers post-up once within the great city of Austin. It’s quite simple. An active and lively city, accompanied with moderate weather year-round allows for a steady supply of work. "Austin lends itself to pedicabbing more than any other city I have done it in."

Metrocycle Pedicabs teamed up for this year’s 6th Annual East Austin Studio Tour. Thanks to pedicabbers and their knowledge of Austin, customer’s received a smooth tour of several art studios. “Events like this, give the opportunity to meet new people and to familiarize tourists with what Austin has to offer. And I can familiarize myself with the ladies!"

Matthew has pedicabbed in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans, and New York City. All of these cities are much larger than Austin, but this necessarily does not mean more work for cabbers. “Austin has a business and entertainment district that is just the right size for pedicabs. It's great money and entertainment supplied by customer's goes a long way too." Some people say the most bizarre things or are extremely drunk and rude, but it's a part of the job."

"People like to be impressed. When a group of 3 are out at night having a good time bar-hopping and they decide to change scenes by jumping into a pedicab and are amazed at how a seasoned rider can tow them up steep hills without flinching or slowing." As this has happened several times to the seasoned rider, stating that a woman once said, "I'm definitely going to remember you for the rest of the night."

"Pedicabbing is not just related directly to the entertainment industry." Austin’s Green image is something citizens identify with. Pedicabbing is seemingly the perfect solution to prevent pollution. Fact of the matter is that pedicabbing is environmentally and economically friendly. It meets the standards of the cities Green Image and is an obvious solution to short distance traffic. “A thriving pedicabbing industry really ads to the green and progressive image of Austin, that keeps investors investing here and keeps people wanting to move here.”

Pedicabbing is a serious profession with many perks and is beneficial to the cities "green image." Matthew plans on continuing his profession in the pedicab industry and seeks to have a good time, while providing outstanding customer service to all customers.

A Rudolph Moment

Picking up my studies after the Thanksgiving break, it occurred to me that the real holiday fun was coming to a close. This thought put a damper on my mood.

While walking to the library, however, I heard Christmas music in the distance. All of a sudden, a gun-metal-colored 2005 Honda Civic zoomed past me. I glanced once, and then again.

It was “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.” The owner had placed plastic antlers on the driver and passenger side windows. In addition, she had attached a red Bozo-like nose to the front decal of the car.

The sight assured me that Thanksgiving was just a taste of what’s to come.

Post-Backyard

The Backyard appeared as I thought it would. It contains massive oak trees that would shade the venue if it were sunny. It's spacious, yet intimate at the same time. The acoustics of the venue are phenomenal.

The sound and lighting crew were prompt and professional during set-up. As for the remaining employees in and outside the venue, well that's a different story. They were rather rude. Many employees laughed as they told people that they could not bring their cameras inside. Some even made lewd jokes to customers as they walked by. The parking lot was a good 5-10 minute hike up hill, providing only one way in and one way out.

I thought the Backyard would be isolated, but the venue is surrounded by two large shopping centers. In fact, you have to walk through the Best Buy parking lot and many other stores before reaching the gates.

The Backyard is a great place to hold live music, however the recent addition of shopping centers takes away from its original landscape and atmosphere.

Great show, but tough crowd

The Smashing Pumpkins have not played Austin since a May 2000 show at the Austin Music Hall during the "Machina" tour, a long wait for fans. The Backyard provided the right amount of intimacy to showcase their acoustics and enhance the crispness of their more melodic beats, which the band did Tuesday night.

Problems at the gate were an early nuisance, as many found themselves in an extremely long line to park, followed by a 10-minute uphill trek to reach the gates. Already irritated, many were turned back by security to return cameras to their cars.

Being one of the unfortunate late attendees, I arrived to see the Smashing Pumpkins already playing. The band was clothed in all white, with lead singer/guitarist Billy Corgan in white scrubs with a black and white striped long sleeved undershirt complemented with matching knee-high socks.

About midway through the show, Corgan channeled his softer, poetic side during the light melodic tracks "1979," "Today" and “Stand Inside your love.” Drummer Jimmy Chamberlain displayed his signature driving backbeat jazz-like flourishes during "Zero." Corgan smiled and nodded at his longtime friend and drummer as if to say, “on point as usual.” Then as quick and softly as the poet emerged, he was gone and an abrasive, much more intense Corgan unleashed shrieking yells upon the crowd. The new members of the group, bassist Ginger Reyes and guitarist Jeff Schroeder, matched the energy of Corgan and Chamberlain. Pure blissful prog-rock chaos hit the audience when duel guitar solos were showcased in "Heavy Metal Machine." Just what I was waiting to hear from the Chicago band.

The crowd, on the other hand, did not match the band's energy. Corgan attempted to interact with the crowd, but he was met with many blank faces. Only about a quarter of the crowd knew enough of the words to sing along and began filtering out just before the encore. The younger members of the audience didn't seem familiar with the music, so they followed suit and cut their evening short.

By the end of the night, three quarters of the crowd remained, and were rewarded with some rarities and older hits, including “Cherub Rock” off 1993's “Siamese Dream.” The band left the stage and appeared to be finished. However, not one person moved as they chanted for a second encore. Their chants were answered. The Pumpkins finished with “Lucky 13,” “I Only Play for Money,” “Tax Man,” a Beatles cover and finally, “Disarm.” The crowd was left in awe, yearning for more.

East Austin Studio Tour.

The diversity of Austin ceases to amaze. There is always an event to attend when the weekend comes around. Well, if you're feeling a little artsy this weekend, try to catch The 6th Annual East Austin Studio Tour. The tour will be held this Saturday November 17th and Sunday November 18th from 10am-5pm.

E.A.S.T explores a few square miles within central east Austin. An area that is increasingly expanding artistically in numbers. The work of over 200 artists and 100 studios will be accessible to the public.

E.A.S.T is making bicycles the theme for this years event. Austin's going green, so environmentally it makes perfect sense. Ride your own bike, ride a friends, or have Metrocycle Pedicabs take you on your own personal excursion.

Provided is link to Metrocycle Pedicabs with rates:

www.metrocyclecab.com

Pre- Backyard

As most people know, Austin is known as the, "Live Music Capital of the World." I take pride in being a resident of this fine city. I am quite the concert goer, but for some reason I have yet to attend a concert at the Backyard.

Tonight the 13 year drought ends and I will finally attend a concert at the Backyard. Doors open at 7 and I do not intend on missing one second of the experience. Austin fans have long awaited the return of the Pumpkins. As they have not played since their show on May 14, 2000 at the Austin Music Hall during the "Machina" tour.

What does the Backyard look like? I have no idea. Apparently, it was recently renovated, so my first visit will be a completely different Backyard experience than others. If I would have to guess...It would be a homely-intimate setting shaded by massive Oak trees, probably only seating about a few thousand people, meaning any seat in the house should have an immaculate view.

For now I must log off. Check back tomorrow for an update. The Post-Backyard experience!

The Aquarium on 6th

The Aquarium fancies itself as a hip and trendy bar for all people. I would have to say that it fails to do either. However, it could possibly pass these standards in some sort of bizarre alternate reality. The Aquarium is very similar to the movie, "Groundhog Day."

You see, every Thursday student's from our very school meet at the Aquarium to dance and consume $1 drinks all night long. Early in the day they sit in class and think about the Aquarium and all its glory. The student is lost throughout the course of the day. They become more anxious by the hour, maybe even slightly irritable. The sun sets creating that familiar darkness...finally the time has come to leave for the infamous bar. As soon as they set foot in the dark dungeon, the student is provided with an already sticky floor... alas they are at peace!

The first drink tastes like a crisp dollar bill from heaven. Men and women feel like rock stars as they dance to familiar music. Eventually the student consumes countless drinks, their judgment becomes slightly impaired. Oh snap, now they're only letting extremely good looking people in the doors. They begin thinking that they can approach any man or woman in the bar. Some hook up with one another and some well...get dissed.

No worries, if you were one of the unfortunate ones who were dissed!!! The same atmosphere, drinks and people are provided next week too. You can repeat yourself or do something a little different to change your luck. The choice is yours. Anyone see the correlation between this bar and "Groundhog Day?"

Honestly, the same thing happens every week at the Aquarium. I guarantee that they play at least 90% of the same music every Thursday. Nothing changes in this bar, new students filter in as the old filter out each year.

I do not like the Aquarium. However, it is apparent that many students love it!

The Bedlam in Goliath

The Mars Volta release their 4th full length album January 29, 2008 via Universal Records. Mars Volta fans worldwide have been waiting with much anticipation for "The Bedlam in Goliath."

Listeners can expect a concept album derived from a mysterious object and a series of bizarre events the band endured. Guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez states, "This was the album that did not want to be born."

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez bought lead singer, Cedric Bixler-Zavala a gift. It was an archaic style ouija-board, "talking board." The band used the board to channel different spirits and energy during the process of recording the album. Inevitably, the band started having terrible luck, so Lopez buried the "Soothsayer,"as they called it, in a location unknown to the rest of the band.

Here is a link for a more in depth analysis of the band and its upcoming album:

http://www.thecomatorium.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=93921

The 2007-2008 NBA Season

The 2007-2008 season has started. Many teams have the spotlight shining down upon.

The Boston Celtics acquired Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett during the off season. The acquisition of these two players makes this team a title contender. The fast paced teams that love to push the ball up court are a force to be reckoned with as usual...The Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks.

Who really cares though, its all about the returning champs!

THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS!!!! The team returns with about 98% of their championship roster intact, along with a few additions. The Spurs picked up Ime Udoka, Ian Mahini and Darius Washington during the off season. These players will make noise as the season progresses.

The Spurs are your best bet for a run at the title!!!! Having never visited this city, I didn't know what to expect upon my arrival. I thought the city would not be very lively and remain somewhat damaged from Hurricane Katrina.I arrived to what was a very vivacious city. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits. I did not encounter one rude person during my entire visit.

Later that evening, while outside smoking a cigarette with a female friend of mine, an old man approached us. Initially, my friend was afraid and tensed up. I told her to calm down...the old man claimed to be the human, "JukeBox." We requested the song, 'Let's Stay together,' by Al Green. That alone was an amazing experience, he had a very refined voice. This experience accompanied with the communities positive attitude made my visit delightful and I hadn't even attended the festival.

The following day we arrived to the festival late due to the transit system being backed up. Therefore, we missed hip-hop act, Galactic. Afterwards we headed to the tent that was playing Led Zeppelin. As we arrived it was an all female group called, "LeZ zeppelin." Surprisingly, their sound had an uncanny resemblance to the original classic rock group. The highlight of the show was the drummer. She was precise and powerful meeting Jon Bohnam beat for beat on each song. The group drew a crowd of at least a few hundred people.

We didn't see any more shows until Rage Against the Machine took the stage. The band opened by unleashing, 'Testify' on the crowd. As soon as Front man, Zach De La Rocha took the stage fans began singing along and jumping around like wild animals.

My friends and I were smashed into by sweaty drunk people the entire show. Fortunately, we were only sweaty and not drunk, so we could work our way up to the front of the stage without falling and being trampled. The band transfered their energy/intensity upon an already ecstatic crowd. It was hard to tell if the crowd was just incredibly inebriated or inspired to start the movement that Zach De La Rocha has been speaking of since the early 1990's.

The show was a site to behold! By the end of the set I was left staggering along with the other several thousand fans. Surely, I will remember this night and concert for the rest of my life!

What deodorant would Matthew Mcconaughey use?

Not SURE if this qualifies as entertainment. I just thought it was funny...its happened to people, I know it has.

What is one thing that all people are self-conscious about? How they smell! What do you do if your deodorant is not working anymore and you have that strange masked B.O. deodorant smell? I ask myself, "What would Matthew Mcconaughey do? Actually, that is a horrible thing to ask yourself, considering he has a reputation for reeking of body odor.

I have changed deodorant only once in my life. I used to stand confidently behind the Degree brand, but one day it just stopped working. How could this happen? Not my darling deodorant Degree!?

Immediately I took action. I could not walk around smelling weird...that day haunts me to this day! I often wondered, "do I really stink or maybe it's just me?! I wasn't SURE. My quest for the perfect deodorant was brief. I tried the gel brands, but they felt sticky and were just plain annoying.

Then I saw this brand called SURE shining down at the end of the aisle at the grocery store. It looked cheap and was cheap. Hmm? I bought it anyway and it worked like a charm.

What deodorant would McConaughey wear? I would like to think Sure could help him, but his funk is far to powerful...on another level.

Mission Complete. I could finally complete my review of what is 'Grindhouse.'

'Planet Terror' is a tribute to zombie movies of past and humors itself as one. Director, Robert Rodriguez uses an unorthodox style of filming to create intense scenes of gore, while maintaining a certain level of absurdity.

The first scene explains how a biochemical weapon is about to be unleashed upon the world. After the biochemical weapon is emitted into the air humans turn into blood, brain, and flesh eating heathens. Once infected with the virus the transition from human to zombie is rather slow.

Go-Go dancer, Cherry Darling (Rose McGowan) is one of the fortunate to avoid the zombie metamorphosis. Half of her leg is chomped off by zombies when her car is overturned. Before the zombies could ravage her body, El Wray, (Freddy Rodriguez) an acquaintance of Cherry's kills the zombies. They arrive at the hospital and have a small portion of her leg amputated before the virus spreads.

All we know about their relationship is that they are acquaintances from the past. El Wrey, displays this dark mysterious vibe, as no one really trusts him, although, his intentions seem well.

At this point in the movie the audience is introduced to Dr. William (Josh Brolin) and Dakota (Marley Shelton) Block. The couple has a very crazed abusive relationship. Dr. William suspects his wife is cheating with an ex-girlfriend (Fergie). His accusations are correct as he catches her in a lie. In a freak coincidence, Fergies corpse is brought to the hospital where we see that her brains have been eaten, as well as most of her body. After this Dr. William is infected and will not rest until he kills his wife.

The virus infects humans at a more rapid pace as it evolves through the course of the movie. Inevitably, the virus escalates and reaches a level of chaos.

Luckily, every survivor knows how to use high powered machine guns and Cherry turns into what can be considered a cyborg. El Wrey attaches a missile launching machine gun to her severed leg.

El Wrey, Cherry, and Dr. Dakota Williams are joined by a handful of misfit survivors that must make a stand or escape from the zombie infested city. The fate of the world depends on their blood and a lone scientist.

"Planet Terror' successfully achieves B movie status. I do not think Robert Rodriguez would have had it any other way. Therefore I give this movie 4 stars for successfully meeting Rodriguez' standards.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dgarcia5.blogspot.com/2007/10/mission-completeplanet-terror.html' title='Mission Complete. It is called Voodoo Fest and is held in New Orleans. Rage Against the Machine will be headlining the first night of the event and the Smashing Pumpkins the following day. These are two bands that broke up practically a decade ago and are back, but no one knows for how long.

I have the opportunity to attend this extraordinary festival. In fact, I bought tickets about 2 months ago...PROBLEM! I am running very low on money and it does not look too good for me. I have been attempting to sell my 2 tickets and have yet to get any takers. I was looking at the tickets the other day and I'm pretty sure I wanted to cry a little

If no one wants the tickets I may have no option but to attend...sucks for me!! Many doubted whether the return of the band was a good idea, especially without the original line-up intact. However, after a seven year hiatus the band has officially returned with pure passion and intensity. 'Zeitgeist' will be embraced by all pumpkins fans and hopefully by a generation foreign to their name.

The album expresses the feelings we go through on a daily basis and the current status of our nation .

Corgan sings on the opener, "Doomsday Clock," Is everyone afraid? Has everyone changed?" As if his intentions are to address an audience unfamiliar to the bands sound. "Doomsday Clock" displays crunchy riffs accompanied with heavy distortion and damaging drums. Reminiscent of older pumpkins albums fused with a new attitude.

In "7 shades of black"Corgan answers his own question confidently stating, "I am without fear!" The pounding drums complement both Billy Corgan's voice along with his howling guitar solos. Some youngsters might be frightened by this heavy sound and dark lyrics. On the other hand some teens may embrace Corgan's afflictions.

Corgan's nasal voice soothes listeners ears in, "Bleeding the Orchid." This song appears to be a cry for help or asking for a chance. It is kind of sad, but the song is genuine and powerful.

Just when you thought you have the band figured out, "That's the way" hits home with many listeners. A song of life, love, loss and more importantly...hope. The emotionally charged lyrics mixed with soft guitars and melodic keyboards make this song stick out from the rest:

"That's the way my love is
That's the way I care
You should call on me baby
'Cause i'm always there for you
Yeah, i'm always there for you"

The next song to follow is "Tarantula," the first single to hit radio waves. The beauty of this song is that it stays true to their sound. Nothing is changed to appeal to the mainstream audience. It rocks harder with multiple guitar solos and a strong bass line. A good workout song if you will.

"Starz" addresses what some people may think. "What's sad is, We are free!?" Pretty much a weak attempt poking at our government. Still, you have to love the drum solo, something that the pumpkins hardly ever do. The song leaves you wanting more. I personally put the song on repeat, but thats just me.

You get more in the ten-minute epic song, "United States," more of a Zeppelin-esque song. At one point in the song, Corgan busts into playing the star spangled banner in an eerie out of tune solo. Non-stop they rage through the course of the entire song.

The Smashing Pumpkins will surprise many with this album. 'Zeitgeist' is supposed to be an album speaking about our government, culture, and nations status, but ultimately is about Billy Corgan...A modern day poet flooded with emotions. He has retained control of his beloved Smashing Pumpkins. The difference now, however is that he does not deny it. Rather he embraces his controlling personality and the band is fine with it this time. The question is...how long will they remain content? I suppose we will all find out in the years to come.

Here's a complete tracklist:

“Doomsday Clock”

“7 Shades of Black”

“Orchid”

“That’s the Way”

“Tarantula”

“Starz”

“United States”

“Never Lost”

“Bring the Light”

“Come On (Let’s Go)”

“For God and Country”

“Pomp and Circumstance”

Three and half STARS and Four on a good day.

The New Ipod...

Who would have thought it was possible for the Ipod nano to get any better. I am obsessed, hey it plays videos!

The New Ipod is smaller, thinner and clearer. It can hold just as many songs as those lame old ones. As I said it plays videos too. If you want to fit in you will.

The Smashing Pumpkins return.

If you never thought you would get a chance to see The Smashing Pumpkins in concert, you're in luck. The Smashing Pumpkins have returned after nearly an eight year lay off. Forget all you knew about the band and their demise in 2000. They're back and better than ever.

The band gets a fresh start with practically an entire new line-up. There are only two founding members that remain in the band today. Lead singer and guitarist, Billy Corgan and drummer, Jimmy Chamberlain. Jeff Schroeder and Ginger Reyes have taken over second guitarist and bassist duties. With the other members not returning it is obvious that there no longer is tension between the band...or drug use/addictions.

This benefits the new album and allows, 'Zeitgeist' to return to the sound of early Pumpkins albums. A classic returns and is tested by an entirely different generation.

Apparently, todays generation still likes the pumpkins sound. It debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 in its first week, selling 145,000 copies in the US. If you want to catch the Smashing Pumpkins with their new line-up check out the official website. www.smashingpumpkins.com

Croc Mania

Behold, the Croc! Not only is it fashionable, but easily accessible to consumers nationwide. This product can be purchased just about anywhere you go.

As a consumer, you have a vast selection of colors to choose from. The options are endless. They can be worn casually, at the beach or even during a long day at the office (Doctor's).

When will this fad end? I hope it will end soon because this product...is a croc. I know it may sound cliche, but it is true. What compels people to purchase these hideous shoes? They're not even that comfortable. They are rubber clown shoes.

It's amazing what people will buy into simply because everyone is doing it. Croc's have become accepted and are a fashion trend somehow. Who knows what's next? Maybe you can wear two different colors? It has to match your outfit though!

Bugged me!

The other day I was at Blockbuster looking for a movie. I saw a movie with Ashley Judd on the cover. I thought, "she usually makes pretty good movies." I decided to rent it.

The movie was titled, 'Bug' starring Ashley Judd as Agnes White, a lonely middle aged woman addicted to alcohol and drugs. Agnes meets, Peter Evans (Michael Shannon) a schizophrenic war veteran, obsessed with bugs. It is a story of love, lust and loss. William Friedkin produces a cinematic masterpiece! The film draws the audience in by exuding an array of emotions...yeah um not so much.

Bug, that's original!? I wonder how long it took to come up with the title? I should have known what I was getting myself into.

Last time I checked, this was supposed to be a horror movie. There was no horror nor suspense. However, there were a few weak attempts at producing scenes of gore. The whole time I was trying to figure out when the so-called bugs were going to make an appearance. There were no bugs. None, just crazy people. I thought maybe something was going to blow me away at the end, something comparable to a 'Fight Club' type of ending. Something! Anything! Instead, I was given nothing at all.

The whole idea of the movie was ridiculous. How does a woman start to fall in love with a man who is clearly delusional. She never really saw a bug and some how was conned into believing they were reproducing within her body. Maybe the booze and drugs started messing with her mind? Kid's, dont do drugs! Now that's a lesson you can take from this movie.

At one point, Ashley Judd starts screaming, "I am the bug queen aahaahah." What??? Whenever it seemed to get intense an absurd comment was made. That might be the only thing that made the movie entertaining. I had a few good laughs from time to time.

I am ashamed that I rented this movie. I should be punished! The only thing that blew me away was that people actually gave it positive reviews. Maybe I missed something? I am pretty sure I didn't, considering it only lasted in theaters for about two weeks.

The Office Season Premiere!

Are you ready for a new season of The Office!?

I sure am, tune in Tonight at 8pm!

Death Proof!

Blockbuster is exclusively renting Death Proof, the second part of Grindhouse. The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino. I thought maybe viewing one part of the film would ruin the whole experience, but they are completely two different films. I think I can wait to see Planet Terror.

Death Proof stars Kurt Russell as a disturbed and twisted stunt driver named, Stunt man Mike. Stunt man Mike is on a constant quest to hunt down beautiful young ladies and kill them with his, "Death Proof car." He cons women into believing that he is a harmless has been stunt man that can be trusted.

When his prey least expect it he completely blindsides them with fury. There are a few disturbing sequences in the film, but what do you expect from Quentin Tarantino? Eventually, Stunt man Mike meets his match in three hardcore stunt women.

The movie has the usual witty one liners and a traditional action feel. Along with that deranged appeal Tarantino always produces. The audio and filming aspect of the movie is done in a very unorthodox style. The audio of the film sounds scratchy and there seems to be what sounds like a projector running in the background. The voice syncing does not match at times either. However, it does not disrupt the flow of the movie. Surprisingly it enhances it. It's safe to say that I was satisfied to the fullest and the movie contained everything I could ask for.

An Interesting Concept

Yesterday my friend Dustin "The Duck" celebrated his birthday. He had a small gathering at a bar called, The Doghouse. Initially, my cousin and I did not want to go out because it was a weekday, but we figured we should make an appearance.

We arrived around 8:30 at The Doghouse which is located off of 183 and 2222. We entered an almost completely vacant bar. There was only one couple sitting in the corner drinking a pitcher of beer. I thought we were in the wrong bar, but then I heard quacking in a near hallway. Immediately, I knew I was in the right place. In the blink of an eye the Duck came strolling down the hallway and greeted us. He took us to the back of the bar, where there were men and women playing an assortment of video game consoles at stations. They had Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega, Sega Dream Cast, Playstation one, two and three. You name it they had it! However, everyone seemed to be focused on Guitar Hero 2.

The bar had 20 different beers on tap. Eventually, I ordered hot wings and split a pitcher of Blue Moon with my cousin. The bar was like nothing I had ever seen before. We thought, "What an interesting concept." I'm not saying that the owner is this type of person, but this concept must have been derived from the mind of a pot head. Either way I think they could possibly be on to something.

Queens at La Zona Rosa

I was expecting to attend an amazing festival this weekend, but to my dismay...I did not even attend one day at ACL. Poor me right?

Not exactly! I attended the after show for Queens of the Stone Age at La Zona Rosa. The show literally knocked me off my feet. Actually, a large drunk man fell into me and knocked me down. However, I was having so much fun that it did not even upset me. I just dusted myself off and got back to moving.

The band exuded this positive, lets have a good time energy, if that makes sense. The audience was captivated by superb sound and visual quality. As a whole, we were rendered helpless and had no choice but to shake our ass' all night long. One thing is for sure, I know for a fact that I have never danced that much at a show!

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE or spoon?

This years line-up at ACL is to die for!! There are so many bands to see with so little time. There is one band that everyone must check out, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE! However, one band stands in the way; it is of course Austin’s own, Spoon. It’s safe to say that these bands are on the rise. Both will be playing at 6:30 on Friday. Who should you go see? QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE! Come on...you can see Spoon anytime in Austin.

Queens progressive sound will blow everyone away and that includes Spoon who will be on the stage right next to them. Their music appeals to both men and women. Queens front man said in a recent interview, “We make our music sweet enough for the ladies, and hard enough for the boys.” They will be promoting that sweet sound from their new album, Era Vulgaris, which “Shakes more Ass than ever before.” If that is not appealing, then I don’t know what is?!
